Hi all,
Well it had to happen somebody used the supportpac and of course they did it
in a way not covered by the 45 test scripts I use for validation :( There
are now 46 test scripts :)
Anyway they found the bug documented below which has now been FIXED.
If no MQMD var is specified and is used

Hmmm...I do believe in the notion that a queue is a (very) special case
of a database. However, in this respect I think they are (very)
different. Relational tables typically have a formal structure that
constrains their content to the purposes for which they were designed.

I’ve been a lurker. First time posting here.
We have been using MQSeries for several years now in a

Hello Peter,
You may get something better than that on the local network but I doubt for the
inter-network synchronization. Also, depending on the real-time clocks implementation,
short periodic time error may be in tenths and of course hundredths -- unless you have
bought some special hardware
Title: RE: Link for R/3 v1.2 on WMQ R530
Hi Kerry,
We use SAP R3Link v1.2 on an AIX platform on MQ v5.2 (CSD4). The current installation has been running for a couple of years now without any problems. We have 2 outbound servers running for each SAP processor ( currently have 14 outbound ser
Does anyone have any experience setting up the "connectivity" between WAS on z/OS and an MQ queue manager on the same Lpar? Specifically, the steps that need to be performed on the MQ side. (We already have the system queues that WAS needs defined.)
I have some documentation, however, I was look
Nah, nothing heroic.
When I did a search, I found people complained that the MQPINUSEOK flag didn't
work, so I didn't bother.
This was a new (or almost new) box with a fresh install of MQ. Therefore, I
want to make sure it was put to the current CSD level. Backout is not a
requirement. If need
Hi,
I went by the thought that if the CSD was complaining about the file then it
WOULD be replacing it. Therefore, that is why I just deleted them (a little
too trusting).
But with all these comments, I did go back to the box and verified that the 5
files were actually installed by the CSD - and
Doesn't this tie your applications to each other a bit more. If your message
from SAP to ARIBA needs to be changed to another application, you have to
update SAP so that it puts a message on the SAP.ANO.TRANS_NAME queue?
If SAP writes to SAP.TRANS_NAME MQ can deliver that to ARIBA.TRANS_NAME

Thanks for that little "sound byte" - I like "queues do not do anything". I
agree with you.
My reasoning is that, like database tables and class names, they're
typically named after what they contain, not what they do.
You would have an "ORDER_AMENDMENT" table which is used by the
"update_order"
I had the same problem, MQPINUSEOK didn't work, using a Sysinternals tool I
determined that I need to stop 2 services that had files locked: Windows
Management Instrumentation and SNMP Service, this resolved the issue for me.

Bharath,
These are both good questions. Let's hit the easy one first.
Scenario 1: You stated the remote QM is not running. Therefore, while the
reset will reset the sender side, there will be no impact to the receiver
side SINCE THERE IS NO RECEIVER ACTIVE OR INACTIVE AT THIS TIME. This is

Folks,
Thought I knew what Resetting a chl was all about. But no there is a gap

I know using the MQPINUSEOK flag didn't work for me. It still complained
about files in use.

Roger,
This was truly a heroic effort, but why didn't you try to run the install with
the MQPINUSEOK flag, as suggested in the memo.ptf?
E.g.: U200212A.exe -a MQPINUSEOK=1
Then you only need to reboot once and you don't have to worry about anything
else.
Manual labor aside, there is one other

Good point. I think he would only have to rename those files not replaced
by the CSD.

Good job. I know you would have preferred to find out who was loading which

why you chose this brute force methoid instead.

Doesn't seem like any problem with the code. I have encountered this kind of problem when using JMS. Here's what I can dig out from my memory:

Guido,
I cannot help you for problems with z/OS, but I recommend:
- Search www.mqseries.net and post the question there.
- Try to get a ssl connection solaris-solaris working because it's

ok.
Much success

check the MQSeries Intercommunication Guide for more information about
channel exits.
On the mainframe, you can wirte channel exits using assembler or c, there are
some samples in the MQSASMS or MQSC37S libraries. i am quite sure if
you google for "+mqseries +channel +exit" that you will
