The Chips & Technologies 65554 doesn't do 32bpp.
Since it's a laptop display panel, I'm limited to 800x600 as well.
Plus, it dithers colors when they're almost black. Thus if I have a
progression from white to black it's smooth until it gets dark. Then

How are you attempting to mount the Superdisk. I usually use the following
command:
mount -t vfat /dev/hdg /mnt
Linux recognizes my Superdisk as hdg, not fd0.
Hope that helps.

What does "maximal mount count" mean?
When I started Linux, it reported that the maximal mount count was
reach for each of my partitions and that a check was forced.
I assume this means that it feels it must check each partition

I may be out in left field since I've just installed my first Linux this

Try using g++ instead of gcc. Otherwise, you have to link the c++
libraries manually.

Hey everyone. I've installed Linux a number of
times, but i recently got a P 60 that I want to give all to linux. I created
bootdisks (hopefully I did it right), and it booted the linux kernel. While it's
loading though, right before it enters the installation (its the line that says

I would assume if I couldnt figure out my (Localname.localserver) password or loging

stuff like that. I get a new error at boot up. It

Yup. It's a Compaq. I understand they are rebadged Lexmark software driven
(winprinter?) deals. Probably in the same boat as the modem. Thanks for the
link.
Jim.
Since my reinstall I can't compile my simple Comp. Sci. I programs
under gcc. It gives me errors saying undefined function calls to
cout, cin, etc.
How do I get my header libraries back?
Thanks!!

Howdy Cayment,
I am currently running Linux Mandrake on my Road Runner account with no
problems. They critical points are to:
A) Get DHCP working
B) Get, compile and run the Linux "rrlogin" program.
Here is a link for you to help with those two points. Have fun !

I'ts weird though since under Windows the drive letter for the CD-ROM is

This hasn't been trialed but is only a reasoned solution based on my
limited knowledge. You may wish to wait until you hear further from
other more learned parties.
Try playing with the permissions for your mount point, in particular the
group. If you want write access for certain select users
