If you have a card, Linux probably doresn't support it. Try external
hardware that connects to your NIC. Then you have to worry about connection
type / protocol... I'm still waiting for my crappy PPPoE connection which
"doesn't work with Linux" according to Bell South

I downloaded Diald from rpmfind.net, but when I try to install it in LM 7.1,
RpmDrake says "execution of script failed". It's a Mandrake compiled RPM,

get any workable sound, while your's worked out of the box. Maybe you just

Most likely is that gcc was never installed.
Put in your installation disk and tell it you
want to do an upgrade in expert mode.
Go through and have it install the compiler.
Make sure you have it install all the development
libraries also.

I added a number of packages to Mandrake 7.2 and something messed up the KDE
menus. After a re-install I tried to duplicate the process to see who was the
culprit. Corel graphics program changes the KDE menu structure. The things
that change is the option to click on a file and open it up in one
un-subscribe
The menus are rearranged in LM 7.1. File Manager SU is under
Applications/File Tools now.

Qt-2.1.1 is separate from 1.44.
So 1.44 is not uninstalled ! If you
didn't.
Now you have 2.1.1 and 1.44 installed.
Must be !
If you uninstalled 1.44, reinstall that
package.
Insert your CD and install flopyy.
Do an upgrade and select it.

Well, this is a little follow up to my kernel stuff. I have noticed in
/boot that there appear to be kernels for all of the versions of linux
that come with the 7.0 distribution. How do I change the system to boot
from an alternate, different version kernel.
I guess that's what I've been look
