Windoze and a reboot causes all changes to be lost, and boot errors on the
ethernet card.

Has anybody had any success in getting a Matrox G450 LE (16mb) card working
with Mandrake 7.2 and XFree 4?
I can't seem to get X working. Harddrake identifies the card as a G400
(which should work fine). When I run 'startx' I just get a blank screen and

I have a Dell Inspiron 3700 laptop, I have installed mdk 7.2 on it, and
downloaded the updates (kde 2 final). I have two questions, the first is
that my cdrom drive (internal) and my floppy drive (external) are both
listed as supermount in linuxconf. The only problem is that if I don't have
Start "kups", Choose "Printer", "Add". Choose "AppSocket" (or "Socket")
as backend and on the next screen click on "Scan". You printer will
appear in the list field. Now you click on it and then on "Next". As
driver you can choose either The "HP 4050" drivers offered (they print
in PCL mode) or yo

I have "installed" Linux Mandrake from PCPlus
(UK) October magazine disk. I'm more than certain that I followed the
instructions to a tee (there weren't many options).
I used partition E (5Gb) of my previously partitioned 10Gb HDD to locate
Linux.
Windows OS is on C (2.5Gb) and my data is
file number : 40067848
I am obviously a Linux newbie, and my only prior experience with Linux was
a RedHat 6.2 install that went without a hitch.

It is a grafical boot loader. As a newbie, I prefer it over LILO. You have
the option to load it instead of LILO in the expert install.
