I need some step by step guide by someone out there, i have a realtek8019 ISA card, it's supposed to be a ne2000 clone, so i used the ne2k module from the module configurations to get my card working, and i was unable to did it. i checked my windows IRQ and IO port but theres a problem
I was installing LM 7.1 to a friends computer. During the installation

One Linux native (ext2), bootable, 2.2 GB and a Linux swap of 128 MB

I have installd the new 2.4.1 kernel, but I can't get the sound or nic to

with it, mostly did you get your NIC working to get a ip via dhcp. Mine
works if I configure it manually, but won't get an ip via dhcp

Unless you tried to set up your internet connection when you installed, kppp
probably didn't get installed. This attempt is necessary, tho rarely
successful. You can install it through rpmdrake, search for kppp and

when you installed Mandrake? Very likely the reason you can't connect to
your box on with either of these programs is because the servers for these
services are not installed on your system.

yea, windowmaker is pretty much it for desktops. Fast, light, pretty,
intuitive, customizable and all your favorite gnome and kde apps work
just fine with it. What not to like?

during a Linux installation. Each Linux installs its own booter

This is the only problem I see with Linux. The fact that it is free to
download and try all the distro's you want. I have tried
Debian,RedHat,Storm(basically Debian) FreeBSD and MAndrake. I always end up
back at Mandrake. I really like the DrakConf feature as I am a windows
convert to Linux.

I was playing around with the various window managers and finished off with
Gnome. When I decided I currently prefer KDE best I logged out and selected
KDE again from the login window but it kept coming back up with
Gnome/Sawfish. What did I do wrong here?
None that I know of, except for the ATA100 IDE Interface. You have to connect
your hard drives to the ATA33/66 Interface first, do the install, then edit
some files to support the ATA 100 interface, then shutdown, change
connections then restart. That's how it's done with an Asus A7V. Mine roc
