This is because '.' (the current directory) is not included in $PATH by
default for security reasons. Hence, to run 'backup' from within ~chuck,
the command would be './chuck' . Otherwise it will search the current $PATH.

I had trouble with 8.1, mandrake 7.1 through 8.0 were blazing fast for me,
then came 8.1 download edition, slow and unstable, Some people have had great
luck with 8.1, other's like ours have sucked and cause me to use a different
distro for now. I hope 8.2 will be better

unzip is installed in /usr/bin, and /usr/bin should already be in

You were right about the memory speeds - I swapped my two mismatched 64 MB
DIMMs for a 66 MHz 128 MB, but I still got crashes. Then I looked at memory

I think that configure is running, but one of the programs its calling is not
available on your system - hence the "command not found".
Tough to debug - look through what configure is trying to do, and try doing a
"where foo" for each program it calls.
