Looks like I've finally got them pretty well sussed out here now.
If a native Linux port does not have sound - run it with artsdsp. Example -

On Mandrake 9.2 I have a printer - Epson Stylus C42UX - connected to
/dev/usb/lp0. Up until a few days ago everything worked fine. Now I
can't print at all.
Done all the obvious things - made sure everything is plugged in,

I have just update galeon on my site to galeon-1.3.11a-0.1mdk.
It is available from the 9.2 page for manual dl only.
It does require that mozilla-1.5 also be installed to prefix=/usr.
The rpm will not work if mozilla is installed to /usr/local
Rpms for mozilla-1.5 are contained on the same page

You are right that K3B can be installed directly with Mandrake 9.1 (I tried
this but I don't check if it also supports Mandrake 9.2). You can go to its
website and download the binary package. It works. You can also download
another program X-CD-Roast. It's great.
