I ripped a number of songs with streamtuner/ripper this afternoon.
When I play them with totem, they are perfect but when played with
xmms there is a layer of noise (extreme) over the output.
Noise is not evident in graphical.
What gives? Can I fix it?

I managed to get Xmms to work. I downloaded and installed xmms-cdread
rpm and it works. So in theory there is no reason why I can't get Xine
and Totem to work.

I tried to install MDK10 alongside my Fedora core1 on a spare partition.
I didn't get very far. The installation said that my partition table is
to corrupted (it was created with Fedora) and I have a choice to delete
all partitions (not a choice for me).

always number four, for some sort of compatibility reasons, i'd suggest
making sure you have a backup of what's on it because i'm not sure that you
should have that result, perhaps backing up in winxp and then making a

I removed Totem (it crashed all the time with DVDs) and installed Kaffeine.
When I try to run a DVD a get this error message Xine error: no input
plugin.
What does it mean?

the zip drive actually tried to read the disk, the little light came on and I
could hear the drive read head spin( i think it spins ).
But I got an error message:
'wrong fs type, bad option,bad superblock on dev/sda4 or too many mounted file

Ok the cdroms are set and work fine, but my floppy and zip in /ect/fstab are
set to supermount: none /mnt/zip supermount. there's no dev= /dev/hdb
or anything like that and I can't access them as regular user.
What should I add if anything??

i think you'll find that currently kmail does not compose in html but in plain
text only
if you meant to ask how to compose in html then you'll have to specify an
external editor but if that is the case please reconsider if html is
necessary

I downloaded Mandrake Community (3 iso files and an asc file) to a blank
partition on a new harddrive. I have windows 2000 on my boot harddrive. How

this fixes the yahoo problem, i've had no troubles since i installed it
