Could I use this same solution to specify a particular System.map that I
want to use? If so, what is the syntax? I have multiple kernels that I boot
in to but each one has its own System.map. Although I can specify which
kernel I want to boot in to within the LILO prompt, there does not seem to
be
I installed Mandrake 5.3 with no problem. KDE works beautifully. I
grabbed
all the 2.2.5mdk kernel binaries and all the recommended RPMS. After
installation and reboot, I fired up KDE there was no text. All the
graphics and icons are there but the terminal windows, fonts, and
regular
text are all
Unfortunately, the operation will require a recompile of the kernel.
1. Make sure that you have a current source tree (it's in /usr/src/linux)
2. If not, kernel source and binary RPMS can be downloaded from Mandrake mirror
sites. Select the update option from the mandrake web site.
