I'd written earlier about problems I'm having getting my ESS Solo 1 sound
card to work under LM 8 (I'm on a Presario 1800T Laptop). In short, I can
play audio CDs and I can hear the "system beep", but no other sound

errors indicating that they can't find it, and Konquerer, while not giving
any error messages, cannot display any Java, either.
