If you are in Mandrake 7, you can get out of this by ctr-alt-backspace. I have similar problem using Mandrake 6.5 and RedHat 6.0. It was also with a Mitsubushi Monitor. You really have to known the full specification of your monitor really well. Refer to the documentation that came with your
