Extract the files using "tar -zxvf ".
Then you can build the source. Generally the steps involve:
./configure
./make
./make install
But make sure to read the README or INSTALL files if any.

I installed Mandrake 8.1 and could not use the raw-devices.
"/dev/rawctl"
does not exist. How can I configure these raw-devices.
