I couldn't enable ACPI on my recently installed
Mandrake Linux Community 10.0. In Grub I have tried
some options, namely:
acpi=on
apm=off acpi=on
acpi=force
However, the kernel hangs and issues the follwoing
message:

announcement about the rpm package fix. Thus, how do
I rebuild the contents my lost Gnome's menu?

I have just installed Mandrake 9.2 on
a HP Pavilion laptop.
In addition to the mouse that comes
with the machine, I use
an external USB optical mouse. How
could I make the system
(X Windows?) recognize it and,
perhaps, have it co-existing
with the regular PS/2 type of mouse?
