In terms of boxes on desks, Linux is a very little penguin.
Massive server usage will never do anything in the quest for more hardware
support - servers don't need 3d cards etc etc etc

means NO MS SOFTWARE - you can run IE with wine, but I
suggest you have a look at some of the Linux native browsers such as Mozzy,
Opera or Galeon (best)
there is however a version of IE for unix, but your not running unix :P
