It sits as a sidebar whilst you surf in firefox and seems fast enough.

it will tell you the correct port and irq to use with setserial.

I bought a zoom 2920 Linux compatible modem? and it's not working.
I have been to linmodems.org and downloaded the ltmodem-5.78d.tar.gz file
and now it sees my modem, but no dial tone.

I had the same problem, It then popped up configure modem dialog box and
then prompted for the Installation CD nr 1.
so maybe try to reconfigure the modem and should ask for the installation
CD.
