linux: (the community as a public vocal group) is (from what i have observed as
a longtime lurker on sites/forums/lists and
tryed 2wice now to install 8.2 on my box that was previously running 8.1 no problems
at all (and 8.0) before that, and it all goes smoothly enough until i get to
restarting and logging in.. kde gives me a error saying the dcop server is not
running, and gnome just returns to the login instead o
there is apparently a back orifice flaw in the way mandrake deals with remote X
sessions..

okay i installed a scsi card into my mandrake 8.1 box and it detected the new card no
dramas but how i do i get it to show the new hdd i attached to said card? i had a nose
around with hard drake but it didnt show there and i cant seem to find diskdrake..im
sure i installed it but it doesnt run
umm since thats a shady question, then i suspect you wont get an answer here.. feel
free to try but its up to you to support warez..after all if this was windows list you
wouldnt ask for help with pirated shiznit.. im dont have much against warez per se but
im not gonna help either...and i reck
nope i use gaim. i tried jabber and didnt like thye interface so its Gaim fer me.

just dloaded the iso's to install 8.1 but where do i get an image from to put into
gcombust to make a bootable cd? i've burnt cd 2 & 3 but i really cant do much with
those without this one being bootable. alternatively can i boot from my 8.0 rescue

car etc.. i have tried gcombust but i get a cd full of white noise when i try? do i
need to convert them to wav files first for combust to work? what do other people use?
