I got it working, it was the CDROM drive. For anyone who wants to know, the CD ROM was: ACER 32X MAX, using the ATAPI device driver MOdel No: 632a 002 mfg date: 1998

I have had LM on another computer, it was AMD 300 w/ 40GB (another time I had a 10GB in there and it worked on both) The new computer that 8 doesnt work on specs go as follows: AMD 1Ghz 256 C2 Ram(as long as the guy didnt rip me off) ATI Rage Pro 3d AGP 32 MB 3d accelerator Simmantec PCI network

Where did you get your copy of Mandrake from? I had that problem when I downloaded from an FTP site using Internet Explorer. I read that Internet Explorer corrupts huge FTP downloads. When I burned the iso of Mandrake into a CD, it was corrupted. Started the installation and it doesnt load up prop
