I had this box running mdk 8.2/Win98SE before the card was installed. When I added

relationship with xfree the nvidia drivers as well as kernel modules
always seem to be released right along with new products. but hey that

I am not having a pleasant experience trying to install LM7.2 on my laptop.
I am unable to get any viewable output. I have tried multiple color
display, pixels and Hz. Generic 640x480 gets me a the best display but

card up and running. I looked through the news

few threads that got me going. The howto is way to
outdated for use with Mandrake Freq.
I use this video card and have no problem @ 1024 X
768. I think it failed beacause you picked 3D mode. I
tried 1 time and got blank screen like you got. If you
choose automatic install, The program will let you
test graphic card at each mode.
Remember: do not try 3D mode @ Linux-Mandrake 7.2. It

Are you sure that you selected yes when it asked if you wanted to
start X Windows at start up? That normally only shows if you answer
that question with no, or change the run level.
But you should be able to login as usual. Giving it a userID and
passwd then at the prompt type xinit or startx.

I have an ATI Rage 128 card and it works just fine under both 7.0, and
7.1.

PCI slot, kudzu found it, (and after a brief conflict with my internal modem)

Actually, glide is quite well supported in modern
games. Deus Ex plays superbly in glide as do
half-life, unreal tournament, freespace2, Quake3 and a
host of other games. It seems that game makers are
simply not making a big deal about having glide
support. Glide looks better too but you have t
Goto www.lokigames.com ... I'm sure they'll have some help for setting up 3d
under support then gldrivers. Glide is a proprietary api created by 3dfx.
It hasn't recieved any native support in quite a while (maybe 2 years?!) with
the exception of Descent 3. At any rate, your problem isn't glide.
umm. libglide2x.so is a Glide library for a voodoo2
card. You can't use Glide because you don't have a
3dfx based card. In order to use 3D hardware
acceleration with a rage fury maxx you will need to
install xfree86 4.01. Read the supported hardware
list first though because the Maxx might not
