Thanks Charles, I opened the box just to find out that the cable that connects the audio from CDROM, well DVD-ROM actually, was pulled out from its proper place on the sound card. Pulled it in and everything works perfect. Thanks again, it seems that sometimes one misses the obvious things and starts looking in more complexed places.
