I think, that if you right click on the time in the lower right corner of
the screen you can get the set time applet. There is a checkbox for GMT,
uncheck it. If you can't access it that way, browse through the menus from
the K button or better yet use the kcontrol panel icon on the task bar a

I agree- it sounds like you forgot to tell Linux that your clock isn't in
GMT. You can change this through 'linuxco
Well, the easy way to change the clock is in the BIOS. When your
computer boots up, it usually displays a message "Hit DEL to run SETUP",
unless it is a COMPAQ in which case you need an auxiliary disk
Set the time there, then save and exit
You might also want to check that you specified local
