Back to the drwaing board Bill. Silly question, but is your parallel
port turned on in the BIOS?
Try my suggestions again, but this time just use "File", "Find Packages"
and see what comes up.
Did you find the "cups-lpd" entry in "Startup Services"?? It matters. If
it's not there, un-install al

entries. Then
I started the Mandrake update to get the new cups packages and couldn't get
the job done. I got "cups conflicts with printpro-4.1.2-1 and openssl-devel
is needed by cups-devel . and ghostscript 55.50-33mdk is needed by
cups" or close to those words. So does anyone know what the conflict
