this may be as simple as extending your timeouts or trying a different DNS
server number. I use Earthlink and connect with mandrake with no problem. are
you using kppp or ifup ppp0? the dns servers numbers I find work for me wiith
earthlink are 207.217.77.82 and 207.217.126.81
