I believe that in Redhat 5.2 (and thus Mandrake) that vfat and msdos are compiled as kernel modules. So the probelm is that support for vfat and msdos aren't compiled into the kernel. However, the modules SHOULD be automatically loaded when requested. Try looking for error messages with "cat /

I just installed Mandrake on another computer and now when i try to mount my windows partition using: mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /dos it tells me vfat isnt supported by the kernel. msdos doesnt work either. What do I do and how do I make the kernel support it? Also, how do I configure the kernel fo
