if you have configured apache to allow index then if it does not find a file with the title index.html (or could be index shtml, or index.php etc.) it should create a real generic one, listing all the files in the directory. as far as getting linuxgeek.shacknet.nu, it worked for me On Sun

How do I let people into directories? I have a directory /var/www/html/media/download that I don't want to have to make an html file for, I would like people to just beable to browse that directory. As of right now I just get a not found error. WHen you put in the address it takes you to http
