[newbie] Looking for App...

I wanted one that kinda...compares to the windows counterpart... with that one, all you have to do, is save a file called : kit.crd for example, with all your input/data/cards. I've seen a couple acting as address books...but, I always have trouble installing tar.gz files. I'd like to get one in
