Barry,

No, not especially. What matters mostly is the client that is sending
the print job. All Samba has to do is present the "share". it doesn't do
anything with or about the drivers needed for the Printer. Cups can and
does take care of that, however for best results be sure that the needed
driver is installed and being utilized on the client machine.
