Greetings all,
I'm having a little trouble getting Samba going.
I've got Mandrake 9.0 on my deskop, win2k on my laptop and trying to get
these bad boys to have a conversation.
I can ping the Laptop from Linux, and vice versa.
I edited the smb conf file to reflect the workgroup name, also enabl
plenty
of other things that could prevent the PC from appearing in the network
neighbourhood even if Samba is totally present and correct.

Try this: Click on start, run, then enter "\\"
and click OK. If that doesn't work, try "\\". I've frequently seen case

Without seeing your smb.conf file it's hard to know what the
problem is, but one thing comes to mind...NT and 98 use "encrypted" (or
what MS says is encrypted) passwords, while 95 doesn'tSamba con use
