I have a soundblaster live -> sndconfig finds it, but the soundtest or
modprobe? shows an error:

run sndconfig. if soundblaser compatible, these are the settings:
Soundblaster 16

MPU I/O 0x330
be sure to exit root when done, i.e. dont run startx from root.

After 4 months without linux, a "simple" fix in the BIOS allowed me to
install linux again.. happy happy joy joy!
