Hi!

Today I wanted to speed up my hd, I've read the man page before.
Following options have been added to my /etc/rc.d/rc.local file:
m32
c3
d1
I tested all these options on the command line before and the hd's speed
increased from 3.something to 12.something. A good value I thought, I
tested it some time with the "-k" option and all went fine. But when I
run "hdparm -t /dev/hda" now the value is exactly 5.0. I opened a shell,
typed "hdparm -m0 /dev/hda" and ran hdparm -t again, same value. Then I
switched to "-m32" again and the value increased to 12 mb/sec again.
Strange, isn't it?
My hd is hda (Seagate 313021A), my CD Rom is hdc and my CD writer is
hdd.
Has anyone any ideas?
