Ooookay. Now, I am no longer getting the boot options upon startup.
After installing Linux, I could press "l" to boot into linux, "m" to
boot into Mac OS, etc.

Kaj, her basic problem is that she can't get into X. Someone gave her some
fixes to XF86Config-4 to try.

So, I was trying to install Mandrake 9.1 PPC on my eMac (G4), and ran
into some problems. I was getting a black screen instead of the GUI. I
tried "install-gui-benh text video=ofonly", and that got me through the
installer fine.
