I have solved the problem with Mr Fourdan (The person who made XFce) and I had to add

Hello friends,
I am having a problem with XFCe, I can't get it to save the changes I make to the
icons. It tells me that it cannot create file. I have no idea what file it means.
It is 3.8.16 of XFce on Mdk 9.0
At work I am running 3.8.14 on Mdk 8.2
Do anyone know what I can do to fix this.

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. I've been away from home for
a week.
Your fix did the trick. Thanks!!
The line in /etc/X11/xfce/xinitrc read "xscreensaver -no-splash
-lock-mode &" so I removed the -lock-mode.
BTW, I'm still fooling with RH7.2 and am

At a guess Terry I would say you are using XFce from Cooker or elsewhere
because the screensaver for XFce on 8.1 worked fine for me, while the 8.2
Beta1 version gave me the same problem you have.
I found the bug. If you edit /etc/X11/xfce/xinitrc and find the line

This should be a simple one.
I, along with many others on the list, have settled in on Xfce as my
desktop manager of choice. One neat thing about Xfce is the Xscreensaver
pgm that runs with it (although you can run it with other desktops, wms,
etc.).

As an aside to this, I've found that loading WP8 is blazingly fast in Xfce.
It loads twice as fast on a P233 w/384 megs of ram, running Xfce than it does
on a P733 w/512 megs running KDE! Both machines are running 8.0. This
floored me!

Another sure-fire way to take one out that isn't responding is to open
KPM and kill the app that way. No worries of bothering anything
important cause if you open KPM as a user the only thing you can kill
are apps that you've started, or that carry your userID.
