HI After a trying kernel form CD1 and CD2 with or without options, from ftp for more boot floppy img, the only way I have found to install 10.1 or 10.2 on a d610 is:
10.1 boot the cd (no option, just enter) then select ftp (I did copy the content of the CD1,2,3 on my desktop's ftp, then run the install from ftp). Job done. 10.2 copied the content of the CD1,2,3 on my desktop's ftp, then run the install from ftp press f1 then f2 select alt1 (no param) select ftp,dhcp, enter hostname and domain, it will bring the network up, setup proxy if needed, enter ftp ip and directory name, it should load the startup, select input, etc, when it display found .... select yes next add ata_piix press next again now continue as normal after formating you can copy or not to the local hd the distribution (very long) install. Don't do it Et voila. Problem with both configuration: Cannot get the video to work on the laptop screen (I only have the d610 with the onboard 915. I do not have the ati x300.
