Having used the 'faxsrv-Mini-HOWTO' to configure efax on Mandrake 8.2, I lost my
modem. I followed the instructions to the letter and on calling up my modem, the
message was 'Error : can't open serial port /dev/modem: is a directory'.

As I've never installed the mandrake version of "e-fax" I'm not sure about
that one. The service tho I am familiar with. It's a windows thingy, does
require a "helper" program to function,available from the site of
course,there is also a fee to use the expanded service,and yes..their
documents
ehhh... it's a different "e-fax" I believe. one that MDK supplies is a
program to fax (like hylafax, or in M$winder$, winfax) and the other is a
service that offers a free fax phone number, and you recieve your fax via
e-mail. I believe they make there money by being the recieving service for

I am not sure if this is the case here, though. Fax format,
I have setup efax to answer incoming faxes, but it's not working correctly -
I'm getting errors that I don't know how to fix. Hoping someone here can.
