Tried to install 7.1 but didn't get passed "initializing CDrom" before the
deadly "Transsocket" message appeared.
(Am using SiS 6326 card). And yet, Mandrake 6 worked well on my machine.
Tried the "Linux text" entry but got lost.
Somewhere I read there is a bug in the graphic install mode
logged on as root, i get permission denied. i'll make it easier for the
both of us. i'll go on back to 6.0 and work away my "newbie"ness. in the
