This is an common problem which can be healed by using the option
sw_cursor in XF86Config:
1) in /etc/inittab set initail runlevel to 3 and reboot
2) in /etc/X11/XF86Config, search for "Device" section, and
add "Option sw_cursor" (see "man XF86_SVGA" for details)
3) test by typing "startx"

My name is Michael Bui and I have the same problem.
I got a BIG WHITE block when I am in Xwindows.
Is this one of the BUGS on version 7.0 of Mandrake Linux.
Is any one else have this same problem?
