AMD supports MMX, therefore you should get a boost from MMX if Mandrake
supports it.

Mandrake will run Just fine on your K6-2/400.
I am running it on a K6-233 with 64MB of RAM, and extremely crappy
hardware, and it's flying.
I can do more stuff simultaneously than on Winblowz 95.

Yes Mandrake will run on AMD chips.
Right now I am running 7.0 on a K6-233 with 3D/NOW
Pretty nippy performance considering the lowly hardware.
