Says who? Do you think that everything on the Earth must be open source in
terms of GPL? Then it's communism.
Sources are here. You can start your own project or connect to any of existing.

However, compiling and putting Fluxbox on OpenSolaris then would be the viable
option, since the licensing for GNOME cannot be changed. (I don't think I'd
want to convince anyone to change GNOME either.) :)

Frankly, this is one of the biggest arguments in favor of assigning
copyright to some single entity for all contributions to a project. It's
what allows multi-licensing of an entire codebase. IHNSHO, anyone

You would have to get every person & corporation owning copyright in every GNOME
module to agree to that, the odds of which are staggeringly high against you,
Yes, Oracle is killing OpenSolaris. If this is not the intention of Oracle,

This is a fact.

Of course the question then becomes where does the image for this WPAR come

I wouldn't call it killing. It's just making it less publicly open / newbie

OpenSolaris is my favorite Operating System. Is consistent, well documented,
stable and has a amazing management. Reject this project is a nonsense decision!

Did Oracle discontinue OpenSolaris laptops program with Toshiba? The Web page

It looks like Oracle is not interested in OpenSolaris advocacy anymore. The PR
