I've found some very nice example code at

describing how to do nonblocking SSL stuff with Net::SSLeay, including
a patch to Net::SSLeay.
It doesn't appear that that patch, or anything like it, has been
incorporated into the current version of Net::SSLeay. Do the
maintainers know about it?
