You didn't mention your orion/config/server.xml file.
There must be an entry in server.xml which specifies the location of
your web.xml file. It would look something like:
You may also need another line in this same server.xml file, like this:

Hi,
This might be sort of a newbie question or just a very
general one. I tried looking through archives before
posting but no luck, maybe someone has a quick anwser.
I would like to know if most of you break up your
projects into a lot of small apps and bind this to a
web-site, or do most of
Anh, create a web application that points to d:\website\myhome as the web
app. Then you're pretty much done.

I suggest you take a look at the documentation :)
Here is something you could use:

If you dont want to create an ear file structure, but just add a unpacked WAR file, do the following

How do I go about telling orion to setup a URL http://localhost/myhome to activate my

On the documentation I have found:

At the moment you can't - wait for the next J2EE spec which will 'hopefully'
have EAR wide resource refs.

Is there a way I can specify resource-refs at a higher point than
web.xml? For example, I have an application that will need to be
distributed across many web sites, where the only difference will really
be applied at the web site level; I'm not sure how this would be done
without duplicat

yeah... but most of this things are already possible creating different
web applications without the necesity to create different web-sites.
What's the basic diffrence and advantages of creating a web-site and a
web-application?

THANK YOU very much
Hey Orion team,
I know I can create more than one site using Orion, but does each ".war" or
web app get its own session id name? We have an unusual situation where our
admin site needs to allow 3 MSIE (or netscape) browsers open at the same
time, but each needs to hit a different part of our site

servlet spec
says that a session is valid only within a web app. So, this would mean that
in order to use the same session, the web site that a web app is part of
should be accessible through both SSL and non-SSL connections. An example of
what I want to do would be an ecommerce store where you can
a nice day! :)
