You need to install the GD perl libraries.

I'm getting this error when I run mkStats.pl on redhat8. otrs1.0.1 (did the
same w/ 1.0rc3 though) Any thoughts?

now I checked this RH8 problem.
Anyway, there is a test rpm for RH8 with apache2 and mod_perl2.
