No one has been able (or tried) to modify the dtl's to allow somethign other
then an input type of text (maxlen 60, size 35) for the customer user input
screen?

lol, the question is about ridiculus but I imagined oracle 9 or 10 could
not have
the same limitation while the version supported by OTRS wasn't specified.
Another way would be a config parameter
