Frogeye in the UK, Bugeye in the states. For added fun, the Subie crowd have
their own definition of a "bugeye"

I feel your pain bro. I only need two things to get my MGB back on the road,
time and money.

A friend has a frogeye that has been garaged, and not running, for about 45
years, I so much would have loved to pick that up as a project and put in a
more modern driveline.

LIkewise, great job on both ends.

I had to stop at the grocery store yesterday. There in the parking lot
was a beautiful Frog-Eye (Bug-Eye?) Austin-Healey Sprite.

I had my camera with me because I was on the way back from photographing
a small waterfall I had discovered (looking for interesting things near
my new home in Google Maps) so I took a few photographs.

... and shed a tear because neither of the two MGBs I own is driveable
and by now it's pretty obvious I'll never be able to restore them. 😢

But I enjoyed the photo of the Power Wagon.

Re: PESO: 1946 Power Wagon

2024-09-04 Thread Bill
I spent some time chatting with the lad in the background of the
picture. He and his dad had salvaged the machine from a farmyard and had
taken it on. He indicated that this was the first 4 wheel drive truck
introduced to the civilian market. I don't know if that's the fact, but
he seemed pretty sure of himself.

He is VERY proud of his truck.

This one is powered by the original 218CID inline 6 that it came from
the factory with. When they did the restoration they used bed liner
spray on the running boards rather than the original gloss black enamel.
I think that was the only unforced "improvement" they made. I don't
think the tires were stock, but I suspect that after nearly 80 years,
the stock tires are no longer readily available so they did the best
they could.

Thanks all for looking and commenting.
