as of r26974, i've updated the NEWS file for the release. it's been a busy month, especially for languages. i've updated information on the languages with which i'm most familiar, but your input is most welcome. also, could somebody peruse the svn log since the last release (r26484) and add update CREDITS? we've had a few new contributors, and i want to make sure they are not forgotten.
