The chain of data roughly goes as follows
BBC->Mplayer->socketwrapper->lame->slimserver->SB3
Most buffering issues showup between BBC and Mplayer - however since
your parallel test (assuming both Mplayer's ran on the same PC at the

I've tried doing the what you suggested and I get buffering on the
Squeezebox but not on the PC, this is all the logs states -

Inconclusive - Sunday morning is never busy except for the Archers
omnibus on R4 IIRC.
Can you have both the Squeezebox and PC with Mplayer playing same
station. Turn the PC volume down and when the Squeezebox has problems -
check the PC and see if any messages appeared or the cache has gone low
I've listened to Radio 1 for the past 30 mins using the BAT file with no
buffereing whatsoever..
Any other ideas?

Most of the log is normal except for one Event starting message. All the
Blocking message are normnal and the "Buffering" message is a display
bug.
Run the mplayer test bat file that ran on installation.
Start listening to one of the live stations. If it plays ok on your PC

Podcast are in MP3 so it is not the same as the Listen Again which are
in RealAudio.
If "Listen Again" (not Podcast) play OK but live program show problems
then it is likely to be a network problem.
Some people have complained about gaps in live streams and blamed it on
additional network traf
No, if I listen to a podcast for example all is well, it streams as
expected..

UPDATE -
I've just installed Ian Cooks 'socketwrapper'

and now I can connect but the playback is awful! It just keeps
buffering even though my wireless connection is running ay 97%
Strength...
Any suggestions?
