I think there are two dimensions: 1) Allowing annotation properties to have subproperties so, e.g. that skos:prefLabel and skos:altLabel can be subproperties of rdfs:label. Mostly this is addressed by punning in 1.1 but there are still annotation property leftovers like rdfs:label and rdfs:c

Sorry, Bijan. I should have been more clear. My statement is predicated on the use of OWL 1.0 which some of us are still stuck using due to tools we've become committed to. OWL 1.1 already provides some assistance in this realm of providing more flexible support for 'lexical localization'*

This is exactly the point I've been making for over a year now regarding use of SKOS in biomedical ontology development, and it is why we use SKOS:prefLabel for all classes in BIRNLex (as well as having the redundant rdfs:label for interoperability purposes). The "altLabel" provides a mean

Matthias, This is a very important problem and an early harmonization effort could save a lot of pain later on (A stitch in time saves nine). An interesting point to be noted here is that the UMLS and NCI metathesauri seek to do a similar thing for medical vocabularies. Wondering if there's a

In think in the short term, in context of the HCLS demo, we can use SPARUL rules to convert various forms of definitions and labels to the usual rdfs:comment and rdfs:label. The only issue I see is that there is a need for secondary labels (or conversely primary labels), so we might want to
