I've just put a tape drive on a client's redhat 5.2 system and although things
appear to be working great, we're getting kernel error messages about the tape
drive.

We're running amanda and the messages came up while doing an amlabel when it
checked to see if the tape had anything it knew on it and again after an amverify
*after* reading the end-of-file mark. I'm assuming this has to do with the
software looking at unformatted data or some such.

I'd like to (a) get confirmation that this isn't really a problem and (b) to
get the kernel to shut up about this. Here's what I'm seeing:

Is there maybe a newer SCSI driver that I can get to run on a 5.2 system or
something else I can do to keep these from appearing on the console.
