bankrupt, and they sold (or maybe gave) the source code to Ximian, the
folks who develop Ximian Gnome. Ximian has since done a great job of
maintaining Nautilus, so that it is much better now than it was just a
year or two ago.

Can you give us the output of 'ifconfig
r config is the determining factor of whether it will
download the file or try to load it directly or with a plugin. The good
news is, most of the time a default-configured browser will correctly
download a file it does not know about via MIME type.
