Hi-
On a new installation of RedHat 6.1, the logs show this message:
Nov 3 23:38:39 rh61 kernel: cat uses obsolete /proc/pci interface
Is this something I should be concerned about?
Thanks,
-Mike

I occasionally screw up the console output by
accidentally grepping in a directory with binary
data, or catting a binary file to stdout. After
doing that, all the text displayed is garbage.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

My most-used C reference book is Harbison & Steele's "C: A Reference Manual",
but it's not really a good introductory book.
