I'm less likely to doubt that IIS can be made to run under Linux, but the
question is, why would you want to do that except to prove that it could
be done?

You can fake it very very easy. In apache, for example, if
you change the config file httpd.h (i`m not sure if the name is correct)
you can change the server name for whatever you want.
It seens to be only a joke from the sys admin from there.

Well, IMHO a linux box redirecting HTTP connections to a Windows box
running IIS is the answer for your question.

Yes and no. We used to have a load balancing cluster of Windows 2000 IIS
servers behind caching (proxy) servers running Linux and caching software
from Inktomi. This setup also showed up in Netcraft as IIS5.0 on Linux,
although it obviously wasn't entirely correct...
I suspect ministryofsound.c
There is probably a Linux based firewall in font of an IIS 5.0 web
server.

It's most likely due to a firewall or load balancer. For example, they
could have a linux router, which would get detected as a linux machine, that
forwards the ports inwards to a windows box running IIS. This would detect
the firewall as windows, and the forwarded webserver as IIS.
