My guess is that it refers to the iron that it would replace. In other
words if it’s a 3r then it would replace a 3 iron. I’d also guess that
the hybrid would be a bit longer in the shaft length but hit the ball
higher. The result would be that you would hit it to about the same
distance.

The Cobra baffler hy has an R on the sole, it will say 3r, 4r, 5r etc.
My 1st thought was railer, but Taylormade owns that, well maybe reg or standard
vs tour or strong, but their tour hy also has the same r.
Does anyone know what this means or designates?

Unless you really, really want these irons, forget about them. They aren't
worth what you'll end up spending for refubishing, reshafting, etc.
They're tapers and they may have a pin through the hosel as well. Even worse
it's entirely likely that the tips could be rusted in the hosel. They'
